3mths 20days
Nini does’nt wan to drink milk recently, from her usual 160ml drop to 120ml or even 100ml. I feel so heartpain seeing her losing some weight here and there. We tried many ways to coax her.. but she jus dun wan to drink. Today we decided to have some Tim Sum buffet, but wen we reach there, the manager told they were fully booked, I’ve been craving for Tim Sum since last wk, arrghh… so angry., In the end darling bring to eat my another favourite, Fish n Co. So we went to the bugis outlet and shun bian go shopping at bugis junction.

20 April 2008 (We love the beach)

We love the beach
I suggested to darling tat we shd bring Nini out to the beach for some fresh air and sun tanning as the weather was just right for that. Seriously speaking.. I miss the beach, ever since I’ve got pregnant.. I’ve stop going sun tanning, dun even dare to bare my ugly tummy with so many “roads” on it. When we reach there, I feel so weird wearing so much at a beach.. lolz. Nini was having great fun there.. Stupid me… forgot to bring her fan along. She was sweating like nobody’s business. “Sorry Nini”. Sitting at the bench, with the sea wind blowing, seeing how her daddy playing with her… I feel so fortunate.

18 April 2008 (Aunty Mavis came to visit)

Aunty Mavis came to visit
Mavis decided to go to my mum’s place with me to visit Nini. She said Nini has got a pair of big drumsticks.. heehee.. (Fantastic Thigh) I agreed too.. her drumsticks are the most outstanding part. We had a good chat tat day while Nini lie down beside us trying to understand wat we were toking about.

Nini has got a little bad habit, she does’nt wan to slp in her own bed at nite. Wen we put her in our pig sty, preparing to slp.. she’ll play and in her own bed. But wen she really wan to slp.. she wan us to pat her… wan to slp in between us… then.. she is happy to go to her la la land. If not.. she will warn us by making a lot of eeh eeh sound to catch our attention, then.. she will cry non-stop if we decided to ignore her warning.

13 April 2008 (Nini's New Rocker)

Nini’s New Rocker
Today I decided to give darling a treat for taking care of Nini most of nite… but will eat wat I crave for.. hahhaha. Ever since last Sunday’s lunch… I’ve been craving for the Yaki Yuki’s teriyaki ckn.. have also ask Alen to join us too. This time round, we added the D.I.Y ice cream too. It was fun but not so nice.. Darling came up with the stupid idea of making cola ice-cream(using soft drink) instead of using their flavored ice-cream… but surprisingly.. its so much nicer than the flavored ice-cream. Heeheehee.
After lunch, we headed to Kiddy Palace.. have always wanted to buy Nini a toy, or maybe a rocker with toys.
We tried some of the automatic rocker.. find it very good, can keep her entertained with the auto rocking system, but… it can only hold up to max 9kg, but she is already 7.6kg… few more mths, she wont be able to sit in it ler. Then we saw the jumperoo.. we put her inside and she gave us the expression of ”a.. new toy” with one side of her eye brow stuck up.. so funny.. hahhaha.. she seems happy in it.. but wen we saw the price, wooo.. abt $299 (if I remember) so ex.. and darling was suggesting we buy next time wen Nini is more stable with her back and neck, so Nini have to wait for a few mths ler. In the end, we decided to buy this Newborn to Toddler Portable Rocker which cost abt $129, so much cheaper.. can sit from newborn to toddler, with vibration mood somemore.. \(^^)/

10 April 2008 (Nini's 2nd 6in1 injection)

Nini’s 2nd 6in1 injection.
Today we brought her to her PD for her 2nd 6in1 injection, first Dr Lilian will do a simple check up on her, this include checking on her development and her responsiveness. She said Nini is doing fine and she said her weight is above average, but no need to diet.. lolz. She weighs 7.6kg at 3mths 3days old.. wahahaha.
Dr Lilian ask me to carry Nini with back facing her, then ask darling to use the toy to distract her, she then gently pinch her butt and poke the needle in. Nini fidget abit but she did not cry at all.. as if nothing happened I tink she is like me, got thick buffalo skin.. lolz.

5 in 1 vs 6 in 1 vaccination
Based on this schedule, your child will receive:
Birth: BCG and Hepatitis (Done at the hospital)
1 mth: Hepatitis
3 mth: DTP + Polio (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)
4 mth: DTP + Polio
5 mth: DTP + Polio
6 mth: Hepatitis
This completes the vaccinations for the first year.

What is this 5 in 1 vaccination?

The smart scientists came up with what is known as a 5 in 1 vaccine. The 5 in 1 basically combines DTaP + IPV + Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae type B) into one vaccination. You may notice that there is a slight difference in the annotations. The "a" in DTaP stands for acelluar as opposed to whole cell vaccine. Acellular means that only purified Bacterial Parts are used in the vaccine as opposed to using the whole Bacteria. Acellular vaccines have been shown to have less side effects than whole vaccines.
IPV stands for inactivated Polio Virus as opposed to the Oral Polio which is a live virus given by mouth. The inactivated Polio Virus is incorporated into the 5 in 1 vaccine.
Haemophilus Influenzae type B (Hib) is not included in the schedule but it is an important vaccine to give to baby. Before the introduction of Hib, 10 -15 babies died in Australia each year from this disease, and 20-40% of the survivors were left with permanent neurological damage. So it is good to protect baby against this.
So as you can see, the new 5 in 1 vaccine offers many advantages over the old vaccination scheme.

So what is the 6 in 1 vaccination?

The clever scientists again made life easier for parents and doctors by coming up with a 6 in 1 vaccine. The 6 in 1 is actually the 5 in 1 plus the Hepatitis vaccine.
So instead of the old schedule where the baby needs to be given 5 injections, now the baby only needs to be jabbed 3 times. With 6 in 1 the schedule becomes:
Birth: BCG and Hepatitis (Done at the Hospital)
2 mth: 6 in 1
4 mth: 6 in 1
6 mth: 6 in 1
Less in injections means less pain and less chances for side effects to occur.

08 April 2008 (She's 3mths old)

She’s 3mths old
Nini turns 3mths old, I was wondering how I pass these 3 mths. Heehee.. With Nini’s arrival, our lives have totally changed. No more late night movies, no more time to logon to the internet and no more planned trips. Everything has to be done in a “walk one step see one step” mode, even if we wake up early to get things prepared, we will still be 1 to 2hrs late. But…. all these hipcups are notting compared to the joy that Nini had brought us. She is now our Joy, our Everything. Cowing is also one of the most tiring task, but this is the best way to show my love for her. “Little darling, mummy will try my best everyday to provide you with all the good stuff I ate.”

Its my mum and dad’s wedding anniversary celebration
Its their 25th year anniversary, although its 2 days late, we still went out for lunch at Yaki Yuki @ MS. The food.. not bad, I personally love their salmon, their teriyaki ckn… Darling was’nt there cos he go 扫墓 with my in laws. Nini behaves really well and she slps throughout while we were having our meals.

She finally hold up her head
Previously Nini can only turn over, with her hand still stuck somewhere under . But now she can finally hold up her head. But… still not very stable.. Awhile only she’ll feel tired and put down her head.

She likes to Chit Chat

Nini loves to chit chat too. Evernite b4 going to bed and every morning when she wakes up (provided she wakes up herself) she’ll wan to chit chat with us. Make a lot of noise, and if we ignore her… she’ll bian zhui… and cry. So funny.
We try to set timing and make it a habit for her to go to bed at 10pm, she will wan to chit chat and play with us till 11pm, then she’s happy to slp. She like to eat her 2 drumsticks, and sometimes she’ll get too excited and choke herself. We started to let her go without her mittens so tat she can fully enjoy her 2 little drumsticks.

She Loves Gai Gai
Nini loves gai gai very much, we bring her out almost every wkend, either we go visit my mil or go shopping sometimes.. She wld sit quietly in her stroller and look here and there. If we stop to see something for too long, she’ll make noise, and if we continue to walk, she keeps quiet again..
When tired, she’ll wait till we get in the car, then she take a nap.

17 March 2008 (She's 2mths and 10 days old)

She’s 2mths and 10days old.

The PD called early this morning to inform me tat nini’s urine test result is out. And she is perfectly all rite. So the swollen feet is just her fats. (‘__’) spend almost a hundred plus.. but as long as she’s alrite can ler. Felt so stupid to even let her try taking the medicine. Haiz.
Today mummy actually spotted her flipping over. She’s so excited and quickly picked up the phone to call me. We actually spotted her doing tat few days before but mummy cannot believe her eyes. Although she’s at the flip over facing down position, she still dunno how to pull out her hand which will stuck under her body, she will feel very uncomfortable and start to make the eeh eeh sound.. wan us to help her.. lol.

Although it’s a Saturday today, we got up real early. Reasons being… “Catch her urine” haha
Darling waited and waited.. in the end he gave up. Now my turn.. aft a few shuuuu… shuuu… she finally let out her pee… even though my hands and pajamas were soaked with her urine, I was so excited and shouted “Yeah Yeah!!!!” It was just nice… 20ml! heehee. After sending her urine to the clinic, we headed to UE square to collect her tai mao bi. It was well done. Later in the evening, we went suntec. The nursing room was so well equipped with hot water and nice changing place. There’s also a nice breastfeeding corner, nice place. Heehee.. Below are some of the pics taken tat day.

The very first thing we do after we woke up is to check her feet, its still swollen. As usual we send her to mummy’s place, but I was thinking to send her to her PD by today. Wen I reach my work place, I quickly call up the PD’s nurse to check if I could jus make an appointment through the phone, after hearing wat happened… she said she cld make this an exception but only this once. So she said she will call me wen’s its going to be my turn, roughly 5hrs later.. which will be 2pm plus.. Gosh!!! Its so long! So I took half a day off. Went back to mummy’s place aft lunch, ard 3pm, the nurse finally called. Mummy accompanied me too. After doing some checks, her PD said the same thing, but she also added, “…but dun worry, she does’nt look like kidney problem but to confirm, we will do a urine test.” So she stick a special plastic bag at nini’s private part to collect her urine, and ask us to bring her outside and wait for her to pee. We waited and waited.. almost for an hour, nini din pee at all… the nurse suggested tat we go walk walk while waiting for her to pee.. we did so, and true enough, she did pee.. but the plastic bag got loosen and only collected less than 10ml of her urine, with this pathetic drop of urine, the nurse can only do a simple test by using the test stripe, the results was negative. Phew… Heng ah!!! But the PD wanted us to totally rest our mind, so she ask us to bring her home, do the same thing again to collect at least 20ml of urine, bring her urine back by tmr morning and she’ll send her urine to the lab for a thorough test. At nite, darling and myself took off her diapers and sit infront of her waiting to “catch” her urine.. hahaha.. but we din succeed. Shall try again tmr morning..

13 March 2008 (Her first medicine intake)

When we go to mummy’s place to fetch her, mummy told us tat when she was changing Nini, she found her feet abit swollen. Wen I look at it, it was indeed swollen and it occurs to both her feet. But not to make ourselves gan chiong, I took a pic and mms Xiubing (the experience mum of 3) to get some opinion. She also agreed that her feet was indeed swollen, she suggested us to go see a PD. It was already 8.15pm, Nini’s PD has already close for the day. So she introduce us a PD at the elias mall which close at 9.30pm. We quickly make our way down. The PD checked her all over and also ask us a lot of questions. After tat he told us, “Honestly speaking, this is very rare, and there’re 2 possibilities, one is… it could be due to allergic, maybe she has drank something tat cause the allergic. Second is… maybe could be due to kidney malfunction.” KIDNEY MALFUNCTION!!!! My mind went blank for a moment. We were so worried. How could it be? She was alright all the while. Anyway the PD said “MAYBE” so we should look at things through the bright side. The PD prescribe a medicine for Nini, he said it is for Allergic, if after 2 days still the same, then have to bring her for a urine test. When we reach home, both of us look at the medicine, still thinking whether shd we give it to her becos we does’nt want her to start taking medicine wen she’s jus only 2 mths old. But hubby said we shd try, maybe she will be alright after the medicine. It was painful to see her struggling to eat her medicine. She dun like it at all and she cried. =’’( Wen I take a closer look at the medicine, it was labeled as “For running nose” very strange, maybe both are meant for allergic.
