It’s a Sunday and darling took a day leave today cos he need to go 扫幕 with his family in the afternoon. This year I get to skip this 扫幕 thing becos I need to take care of Nini, she’s too small to bring along. So in the morning, he made an effort to bring us out for a meal. I suggested to go to the mickey mouse restaurant which I saw from my fren’s email. Reach there at abt 1130, we ordered a pizza, a baked rice and a drink to share. Hmm.. the food there are more suitable for children.. more healthy stuff.. so it doesn’t taste good to me. There’s a big screen showing cartoons and I guess the father enjoys it more than the daughter lor. Hahaha..

21 June 2008 (Weaning)

Weaning..
I’ll be taking care of her alone today, my mum has started giving her rice cereal using spoon.. so im going to try it all by myself today. Heehee… kinda excited to feed her. She loves it at first.. but after a few mouth.. oops.. I think she dun like liao. And started to ask for milk.

19 June 2008 (Diarrhea)

Diarrhea!!!
Poor Nini… she has been LSing since Monday.
15th Jun: Normal poo after 7days of constipation.
16th Jun: 12pm – Normal poo
3pm – Normal follow by watery
8pm – Watery
1am – Watery with crying
1.15am – Watery with crying
Send her to Dr Lim, as usual, register the name and u’ll get to see the her in the afternoon. But today Dr Lim is not in, so we will be seeing Dr Tan. We manage to see her at 12.30pm. She told us not to worry, this might be due to some virus infection in the stomach. If no fever, no blood in the stools tat will be fine, otherwise I may need to send her to the hospital. She gave her some medicine to harden the stools and also a “good bacteria” to help her fight the bad bacteria inside her stomach. She also told me that this will last abt 5days to a week, some will last 2 weeks becos of the lactos in the milk also. She advise me to change to Soy milk (which doesn’t contains any lactos) if I feel its getting worse, I may change back to FM when she is better. She also ask me to make sure that Nini has enough of milk and water intake, this is not to let her dehydrate. When we reach home, its about 2pm+, gave her the medicine.. she cry like hell. Now her diarrhea is getting worse, after every feed, she’ll poo.. and its watery. At ard 8pm+, I saw some blood in her stools, spotting type.. I got panic, call darling and darling ask me to call the emergency no tat the Dr gave, I called, the staff manage to get me through Dr Tan, She ask me to monitor her stools again, she said this may happen, sometimes may even get it 4-5 times then 1 time dun hv, sometimes a lot.. the other time little.. like tat its ok but if its getting more and more and getting like Jam, I may need to send her to the hospital immediately. I waited for her next LS, which was abt 40mins, this time was quite a lot.. like jam.. We were all very worried, but we still tink that we shd continue to monitor. Luckly the next LS, only find spotting blood, not as much as the 2nd time. The 3rd day, she LS almost 6 times, twice with blood. And today, she’s slowly getting better, still poo a few times but all soft stools. She’s getting more and more skinny ler. Haiz.. Heart pain..

14 June 2008 (My first time alone with her)

My first time alone with her
Today its my first time with her alone at home, dun count the confinement time. Darling is working and my mum went to visit my grandma in M’sia. Today, I’ve to bath her myself, feed her.. everything tat normally I wont do it alone… She was quite ok, except.. she dun take much nap as she use to.
It was indeed tiring taking care of her. Salute my mum man.. Oh did I mention that she noes how to flip both side? Yes she can now.. heehee

09 June 2008 (Her last 6 in 1 jab)

Her last 6 in 1 jab
Its time for her jab and yes.. it’s the last jab of the 6 in 1. We reach Dr Lim there at the appointed time. As usual, Dr Lim did a check for her, Nini keep starring at her.. I think she’s wondering, “who is this person.. touching me all over.. make me flip here and there, use touch light to shine me, press my stomach and even make me sit on my own..” She started to bian zhui and followed by crying.. haha. Dr Lim confirms tat that is the stranger anxiety. Heehee. And when it is jabby time, darling carried her while I do the distraction job. As the needle poke into her buttock.. she fidget her buttock abit and she didn’t cry. Whee wee.. Nini.. mummy is so proud of u. Dr Lim also confirms tat she can start solids.. e.g cereal, rice cereals.. some fruits etc.
Off we went to buy some in the ntuc. Heehee.. We went to the kiddy palace again, this time is to buy her a walker. Although some professor says its not gd for the little ones to use walkers as this may slow down their ability to walk, I find it quite ok as it can also help to keep her entertained when she is at my mum’s place.

08 June 2008 (She's 5 mths old)

She’s 5 mths old
I decided to let her 开斋 on her 5th mth. This is a tradition for babies who reached 4mths, to let them have a taste of the meat… I tink. But I decided to postpone it to her 5th mth becos I dun wish to start solid on her too early. Mum bought 2 ckn drumsticks, one white and one brown, and my MIL wanted to add MaLi biscult.. so I ask my mum to buy tat too. MIL say im suppose to use a string and chain up 5 to 6 Mali biscult and put ard Nini’s neck, make it like a necklace and let her pick it up herself to chew the biscult. But I find it abit dirty to use the string and chain up the biscult.. so I skip tat.
First I gave her the white drumstick, after tasting for the first time, she’s not really into it.
Second I gave her the brown drumstick, after a taste of it, she continued, and she’s like chewing the drumsticks. Seems like she like the brown drumstick more.. (Like father like daughter)
Third, I gave her the Mali biscult, she put inside her mouth.. freeze for a moment.. Think she like it very much also. Haha. After that, we went to the book fair at suntec with my family, saw some book for little children. Gosh!! Its ex. Set of 12 cost 69.90 and its already at discounted price. The book is like picture book, not those hard cover type.. OMG! Later, my parents in law came to pick me up as we’ll be having a pre father’s day dinner at the Villa Bali.

05 June 2008 (Naughty Nini)

Naughty Nini
She slept at 1230am last nite, which was considered as early already, she normally slp at about 1.30am to 3am. We can finally knock off early today. But just as we step into our sweet dreams.. She started crying. “Oh Shit!!!!” we thought. We look at the clock and it was 2.48am. We tried hard to coax her back to slp but she refused. She keep on fussing.. I noe its not the wind, she just want us to play with her, darling got really angry and he lose his cool. He shouted at her and scolded her. Nini keep quiet for a few seconds and continue crying.. darling shouted at her again, she stop awhile and continued again. Darling thought she wanted milk, so he went to make milk for her, he got so agitated when Nini continued to cry, he then shouted at her again ask her to keep quiet. Although I’m very tired and sleepy.. I feel so heartache. How can she understand you? Even if you ask her to shut up, she would’nt understand at all. I then got up to carry her and I tok to her, she then stop crying. I tried feeding her. She’s sucking but not drinking. I fed her for abt 10mins and realize how come the milk still like the same, I took out from her mouth and indeed its still at 160ml. I tried for another 15mins, but same results.. arrrggghhh!!! darling was already back to his la la land, hearing him snoring… I got more agitated. But I never lose my cool on her. I talked to her, played with her. It was nearly 3.30am, i really cannot take it anymore and I fell asleep with Nini beside me. 7.30am, I was an hour late. Nini woke up too. I called out her name and she gave me a smile like she normally did. I went on to do some washing up and packing, I could hear darling talking nicely to her. Wen its time to go, darling will normally carry her out to the living room and pass it over to me to put her into my sarong sling. Wen darling came out carrying her, he said that Nini is angry with him, she ignored him when he tok to her, dun even wan to look at him and she’ll turn away whenever darling turned to her. I was really surprised. She’s so small and she could understand that her daddy scolded her? We observe awhile and true enough, she’s really giving him a black face, when I carry her and darling tried to tok to her, she look at him and started to bian zhui.. OMG! She can really understand wats going on. Afternoon darling smsed me saying “Morning Nini dun wan tok to me, me very sad lei” I tink he felt really guilty and sad, but to make things worse, I replied, “Serve u right lor, who ask u to shout at her. No patients at all, she noes mummy is the best. Hahaha” Oops.. I’m also very naughty ya.. lol.
